Life Transitions Therapy

Life transitions can impact us far more deeply than people often realize. Experiences such as divorce, relationship loss, career changes, burnout, becoming a parent, moving, recovery, illness, grief, or major identity shifts can leave people feeling emotionally overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure of who they are afterward. Even positive changes can carry stress and uncertainty.

For many people, the difficulty is not only the transition itself, but what happens internally afterward. Major life changes can disrupt our sense of safety, identity, stability, and connection while also bringing unresolved trauma, grief, shame, or emotional wounds to the surface. During these periods, people may notice increased anxiety, depression, substance use, emotional reactivity, or a growing sense of emptiness and disorientation.

Therapy offers a space to process the emotional impact of these transitions with support and compassion rather than having to carry it alone. Using approaches such as CBT, mindfulness, attachment-focused therapy, emotion regulation strategies, and trauma-informed care, the goal is to help you better understand your emotional responses, reconnect with yourself, and move forward in a way that feels more grounded, meaningful, and sustainable.
